Sep 5 ANNUAL SHIRLEY I. BOUTILIER MEMORIAL WALK EVENT  
  Start Point: Intersection of Trout Brook Rd. & Ben-George Rd, Marion Bridge. B1K 2H9

MIRA PINES TRAIL

Registration: Sunday 05 Sept @ 1:30pm.
Walk Time: 2:00pm

Note: a walk through forest, a day camp and along the Mira River.

Anyone may participate in any event. Children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are asked to obey all traffic signs, and where there is no sidewalk, to walk on the left facing traffic.

Sep 6 UISGE BAN FALLS w/ Walking Adventures International  
  An excellent trail along the North Baddeck River to the white falling waters of the falls.

Uisge Ban Falls has become one of the most favorite walks for our club members and is popular with bus tour.

This is the second walk event to Uisge Ban Falls this year as "Walking Adventures International" bus/walking tours wil arrive in Baddeck for this event.

The tour group will arrive in Baddeck, staying at the Telegraph House, at about 12:30 pm. They will then have lunch and depart for the falls at 1:30pm, we expect to start walking at approximately 2:00pm.

All members of the CBIH are invited to come out and meet some fellow volkssporters from the USA and join in the walk event.

Meet us at the Telegraph House and we will drive out to the Uisge Ban Falls parking lot together or go to the trail head before 2pm.

Directions: From Sydney take Hwy 125 to Trans Canada 105 and continue west to Exit 9 at Baddeck and follow CBIH and Provincial Park signs for approx 14.5K to the Start Point.

Sep 18 VALLEY TREKKERS 42 K MARATHON & SHORTER DISTANCES WALK EVENTS  
  Central Nova Volkssport Club willl host this years Annual Walk Marathon and shorter distances events.

PARTICIPANTS OF ALL ABILITES AND AGES ARE WELCOMED TO JOIN THE CBIH FOR A DAY OF WALKING.
COME WALK FOR FUN, FITNESS AND FRIENDSHIP!

Sep 26 NORTH RIVER FALLS TRAIL  
  Start Point: Take Hwy 105 to Exit 11 and continue to the Community of North River Bridge and follow the provincial picnic park signs to the start point. 

North River Bridge Falls Trail

Registration: Sunday 26 Sept @ 9:30pm.
Walk Time: 10:00am

Note: a walk along the North River to the highest falls in Nova Scotia.
This a 9km walk in to the falls with a return trip of 18kms.
Estimated at about 5-6 hour return trip!
Our annual challenge walk for those wanting to do the full 18kms. The 5/10k events are on a fairly easy portion of the trail. Please note this can be a wet trail after a significant rainfall and participants should be prepared for this. Bring a lunch and sit beside the waterfall before returning to the start point.

Oct 10 7th ANNUAL CELTIC COLOURS WALK EVENT CANOE LAKE  
  Start Point: Canoe Lake Road and Hwy 327 in the Community of French Road (B1K 1Z9).

Oct 24 CAPE AUGET ECO TRAIL  
  Start Point: Trail Head in Boudreauville, Isle Madame. From Sydney or Port Hawkesbury follow Hwy 104 and continue to Exit 46, follow Rte 320 and continue over the bridge and turn right on Rte 206, thru Arichat and continue to Petit de Grat/Sampson's Cove to the SP entrance in the Village of Boudreauville. B0E 3C0

Registration: 1:30pm

The trail is a combination of board walks, beaches, woods, coastline trails.
Fabulous ocean scenery, some smaller islands, lighthouse and boats can be viewed along the coast including mainland Nova Scotia.

Nov 7 BROUGHTON, MORRISON ROAD  
 

Start Point:  2108 Broughton and Morrison Road B1B 1M9
Reg: 1:30pm, Sunday 27 April
Walk Starts:  2:00pm

Walk takes place mostly on gravel roads with very little traffic if any and through wooded trails to the former Broughton Arms Hotel and the ghost Town of Broughton.

Directions from Sydney, Hwy 125 Exit 8 to Rte 22 and turn left on Morrison Rd, continue to the end of Morrison and Broughton intersection.

  The Cape Breton Island Hoppers Volkssport Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Nov 21 BAILLE ARD NATURE TRAIL  
  Start Point:  St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Parking Lot at 40 Cabot Street, Sydney.
 
The Baille Ard Trail and Nature Park has a variety of birds, animals, a natural forest and trails that wander along a brook. lots of fall colours.
